As the snow-dusted hills of Perthshire shimmered under a soft winter sun, Gleneagles Hotel set the stage for a wedding that was nothing short of a fairytale. At our luxury floristry studio, we are honoured to work at some of the UK’s most iconic venues, but few offer the grandeur and timeless charm of Gleneagles in winter.
From the moment guests arrived, welcomed by the scent of pine and fresh florals, every detail was carefully curated to reflect both the season and the elegance of the couple’s vision.
A Palette of Winter Luxury
Drawing inspiration from the Scottish landscape and the soft, romantic tones of winter, we designed floral arrangements that blended rich ivory roses, snowy hydrangeas, and delicate hellebores with seasonal foliage such as silvery eucalyptus, frosted ferns, and sprigs of Scots pine. Accents of deep royal blue added depth and drama, mirroring the twilight tones of the Highland dusk.
The bridal bouquet was an opulent cascade of crisp whites, finished with trailing silk ribbons that danced in the cool December breeze. The bridesmaids carried smaller, hand-tied posies that mirrored the main bouquet, each one uniquely styled for a personal touch.
Ceremony Elegance
The ceremony took place in a beautiful church nearby to Gleneagles’. We transformed the space with a sweeping one-sided floral arch, crafted with layers of white roses, winter blooms and trailing ivy. Large overflowing stone urns were filled with flowers, creating the perfect focal point for R & S to make their vows in front of.
A Reception to Remember
For the evening celebration, the ballroom was bathed in warm candlelight and winter florals. We created dramatic centrepieces using low floral meadows, allowing blooms to appear as though they had grown in place. Crystal chandeliers caught the candlelight, enhancing the sparkle of the tables dressed in fine linens and gold-accented chargers.
Touches of thistle were delicately woven into select arrangements – a subtle nod to the love of Scotland that the couple possess. Our floral installations framed the bandstand and photo areas, ensuring that every corner was steeped in beauty.
