Last December, we had the absolute joy of transforming the magnificent Battersea Arts Centre into a winter floral dreamscape for a truly unforgettable wedding. As one of London’s most atmospheric venues, the building’s historic architecture offered the perfect backdrop for a celebration steeped in romance, seasonal charm, and candlelit magic.

The Vision: Winter Elegance with a Touch of Whimsy
Our brief was to create a setting that felt both intimate and dramatic, echoing the beauty of winter while embracing the spirit of celebration. With that in mind, we designed towering floral clouds that floated above the formal reception space — ethereal installations rich with winter foliage, delicate seasonal blooms, and clusters of mistletoe tucked amongst the branches. These suspended pieces drew the eye upward, adding dimension and a sense of wonder to the already awe-inspiring venue.

Floral Meadows and Candlelight Magic
At ground level, we brought the outdoors in with lush floral meadows that ran the length of the banquet tables. Using layers of soft textures and winter tones, think icy whites, muted greens, and hints of silvery eucalyptus, the meadows gave a sense of abundance and grounded the whole space in seasonal beauty.
To complete the atmosphere, we used over 500 candles in varying heights and holders, scattering them across every surface. The result? A warm, flickering glow that wrapped the room in intimacy and made the entire evening feel like a scene from a storybook.

Details That Made It Magical
- Mistletoe Moments: Hung throughout the venue, mistletoe wasn’t just decorative — it encouraged guests to share little moments of joy and affection.
- Candlelit Tables: The reception tables were framed by candlelight, creating romance and depth amongst the seasonal florals.
- Natural Textures: We used lots of foraged elements and soft trailing materials to evoke a sense of wild winter beauty, nothing too polished, always romantic.
This wedding was a true celebration of the season, embracing the quiet magic of winter with open arms and hearts full of warmth. From the sweeping floral installations to the twinkling candlelight, every detail was designed to enchant.
