There are certain spring days that feel as though they have been carefully composed; soft light through old windows, gardens just beginning to tumble into abundance, glasses catching the afternoon sun, and tables that invite guests to linger long after lunch has ended. This week at Cornwell Manor felt exactly that.
Set within the beautiful manor house, we were invited and had the pleasure of creating the florals for an intimate lunch hosted by Nyetimber, celebrating the launch of their limited edition Summer Rosé. Guests gathered for a five-course lunch, each course thoughtfully paired with Nyetimber’s sparkling wine, in an atmosphere that felt elegant yet wonderfully relaxed.

For the flowers, we wanted everything to feel reflective of early summer arriving in the English countryside. The tables were dressed with abundant meadow-style arrangements and delicate bud vases in a palette of soft whites, blush pinks and fresh spring greens. Clouds of seasonal flowers ran the full length of the tables, spilling naturally between pale pink candles and layered tablescapes by the wonderful Duchess & Butler, designed to feel as though the florals had grown there organically. The overall design was by brilliant Kerry, of Kerry Poulter Weddings & Events, whom I always adore to work with.

We used delicate sweet peas, frothy cow parsley, garden roses, ranunculus, narcissi and other seasonal stems, keeping movement and softness at the centre of the designs. Nothing too structured, nothing too formal, just that wild yet refined balance we are always drawn to at Wizz & Wild.
One of the loveliest parts of the day was how beautifully the florals sat within the manor itself. Cornwell Manor has such a gentle elegance to it; tall windows looking out onto the gardens, warm wooden floors, and the kind of quiet grandeur that doesn’t need overcomplicating. The flowers simply became an extension of the landscape outside.

It was also incredibly special to work on an event centred around celebrating English produce and seasonality. Nyetimber’s Summer Rosé felt perfectly suited to the setting, light, joyful and made for long lunches that slowly drift into evening conversations.

After a slower season personally, stepping back into creating tables like this again felt very special. There is something so meaningful about gathering people around flowers, food and beautiful surroundings, particularly at this time of year when the countryside feels so alive again.

A huge thank you to the team at Nyetimber and everyone involved in bringing such a thoughtful afternoon together. We left Cornwell Manor feeling very grateful, very inspired, and very ready for a summer filled with beautiful gatherings like this one.
